Mountain Sparrow Web Services builds and manages websites for small businesses — design, build, and everything that comes after.
Behind this business is ten years of running online shops — more than 30,000 orders through them. That's a long time spent watching what makes somebody scrolling on their phone at nine at night go ahead and buy something, and what makes them close the tab instead. It's a different education from a design course, and it shows up in the work.
A lot of web design gets learned from the designer's side of the screen. We came at it from the other side. We packed the boxes when it worked and ate the loss when it didn't, and that's the perspective we bring to a small business site: it isn't decoration, it's the thing standing between a stranger and a phone call.
We write our sites in code rather than dragging them out of a page builder. That means your site does what your business actually needs instead of what a template allows, it loads fast, and nothing about it is locked to a platform you'd have to keep paying for.
Everything runs on email, and that's deliberate. Every price and decision ends up written down somewhere you can find it again in March. No phone tag, and no two people remembering the same conversation differently. At the end of a build you get short screen recordings instead of a training call, so you can watch them again whenever you need to.
And you own all of it. The domain, the files, the hosting login, the Google accounts — in your name from the first day. We've heard too many stories from people who found out the hard way that they'd been renting their own website.
How it works
Four steps, and you know what happens at each one
Deposit and content
Half up front, then you send what you've got. Photos, text, your logo, by email or a shared folder. If you're missing things, we'll send a short list of exactly what to take pictures of.
Build and review
You get a private link to click around in your own time, then tell us what to change. A numbered list is easiest, but screenshots with scribbles on them work fine too. Two or three rounds, depending on your package.
Launch and handoff
The site goes live and the domain gets pointed at it. We connect Google Search Console, submit the sitemap, check that every page can be found, and set up the local-search basics. Instead of a training call you get short screen recordings, yours to keep, so you can watch them again in six months when you've forgotten.
